6:19 Studio is a tattoo studio located in Kyiv’s historic neighborhood of Podil. The space spans an area of 111 sq. m. on the ground floor of a residential building. The founder of the studio is a Ukrainian artist Ulyana Nesheva. Ulyana has dedicated her life to art, so the interior of her first studio was to become a reflection of her style and artistic vision.

The task of the team is to create the perfect space for creativity. With this in mind, the goal is to design a tattoo shop similar to a contemporary art studio. Ulyana herself added: “The concept of the studio is that despite the different styles and colors, all our artists are united through the exploration of minimalism. Simplicity is the ultimate goal and the highest form of complexity.”

The studio has almost no doors; all halls are unified, so visitors can immediately enter the spacious open space. On the right side of the entrance, we placed a soft waiting area, and on the left, a uniquely shaped 800-pound graphite concrete workbench was placed. Its edges have been beaten down by the hands, giving it a unique and charming power, such as a tattoo on the human body.

The table combines all areas and can be used as a reception desk or as a workbench for artists to design their future works. It is like a wave flowing from the reception to the living area. Its soft matte surface contrasts sharply with the polished chrome-plated shiny vintage table lamp.

During the construction process, we opened the wall to check its composition and found that all internal partitions were made of bricks and foam, and the top was lined with gypsum board. We like the idea of showing this multi-layer wall, and it was implemented spontaneously during the construction process.

At the entrance, we hung ceiling hangers made of metal cables and propro hangers. The total length of the cable is 100 meters, uniquely designed by our team.

Opposite the entrance is a lounge where artists can relax. It is integrated with the studio space through a tall rectangular portal. In this area, we placed a black leather and chrome vintage armchair designed by designer Mart Stam.

When the graphite table continued to enter the room, we placed a propro high chair next to it. The metal table also comes from this Ukrainian brand. The concept of minimalism means order, the artists personal belongings are stored in lockers.

For the founder of the studio, her love of art is an important part of her work. Therefore, every element in the interior is an artwork. Ulyana saw the sculpture Boy in Christina Ridzels studio and knew immediately that it had to be part of the studio.

The main hall is a large spacious room with plenty of light. A simple black tattoo bed stands on both sides. We moved the air conditioning system from the ceiling to the wall. We also use lighting equipment, fire protection systems and safety systems to achieve this purpose to achieve a smooth and calm canvas ceiling.
